HRM department is important to the organization. HRM is not directly involving to make sale or profit to the Organization. However, HRM planning is directly impacting to achieve goals and growth.
What is Human Resource Planning?
General meaning is, identify employee requirement in-term of quantity and quality. This must be ongoing process in all the time. Apart from that needs to make sure whether all employees are fully interacting with their job role. Further, it is important to make sure that there won’t be any excess or shortage in employee requirement. (Aslam, et al., 2013)
In addition, there are three fundamental factors that needs to focus (Aslam, et al., 2013).- Forecast of employees.
- Demand of employees and availability in market.
- Manage employee supply and demand

- Excess employees are increasing overhead to the organization.

Firstly, it is important to have proper detail analysis of each employee. Specially strength and weakness. Based on this analysis, need to assign employees to suitable positions and role.
- Employee Forecast (Hayes, 2022)
Considering organization growth and mission, need to identify potential employee requirement. Then able to realize the gap of employee requirement. Considering this output, able to identify promotions, transfers, retirements, and new recruitment.
This is most critical in term of employee aspects regarding the promotions. If HRM is conducting employee analysis and forecasting timely manner, able to identify protentional for the employees. Then employee job satisfaction will he high.
- Managing Employee demand and supply (Hayes, 2022)
Based on above analysis, able to identify present gap of employee demand as well as future demand. Then HRM has to prepare to fulfil these in timely manner. Apart from that, HRM needs to focus on below points as well.
- Require new skills to employees
- Additional manager requirements
- Employees are doing their job in maximum strength
- Planning and execution (Hayes, 2022)

- Identify require training and reward employees (Hayes, 2022).
- Unable to promote all the employees even they have fulfilled their criteria. There should be opportunity in organization structure. Then employees will be dissatisfied (Hayes, 2022).
